Gary Thomson is a CPA and has been in the public accounting industry for more than 37 years. The first 34 years were as a practicing CPA starting a firm, growing a firm to being in various leadership roles as his firm grew from a local firm to a top 15 firm. Since 2019 Gary has been a consultant and advisor to firms of all sizes throughout the United States. His areas of focus include traditional practice management matters, M&A, succession planning, strategic planning, Managing Partner/CEO coaching, partner retreats and helping firms with "future-think" to enable long-term success. He is a frequent conference speaker, blending optimism and humor to focus on the future. His experience as a practitioner and firm leader provides a unique consultant perspective as he works with firms. He is the past Chairman of the Virginia Society of CPAs and is a Member of the AICPA Council.
